The San Diego Sherriff announced on X at 8:14 p.m. that evacuation orders for the fire had been lifted, allowing residents to return home. Authorities urge caution as crews continue working in the area.The Friars Fire, which ignited at 12:32 p.m. near Friars Road and Via De La Moda in San Diego, has burned 3 acres and remains uncontained. Evacuations are in place for some areas, while others have been advised to shelter in place.The San Diego Fire Department clarified on X at 5:42 a.m. on January 22 that no further evacuations are needed. Residents who were previously evacuated must remain out of the area, while those nearby are advised to stay indoors for their safety.
