Their chemistry and synchronicity made for a seamless collaboration and a standout project.Aside from his environmental advocacy, Paris is also committed to addressing other global issues, including childhood hunger. As a young filmmaker, he traveled to the South Asian island nation to document the impact of a school meals program that is transforming both children’s lives and the local economy.Through a short film and photographs, he captured the efforts of the UN World Food Program, supported by Clarins and FEED, to provide nutritious meals to school-aged children.
Launched in 2011, the partnership between FEED and Clarins has supported initiatives like the World Food Program, contributing to the funding of over 30 million school meals to date. In 2019, their efforts were centered on Sri Lanka.The initiative not only combats hunger but also fosters a sense of community, encourages education, and offers children greater stability in their daily lives.
“I feel inspired to develop more socially relevant projects utilizing the resources I have and to create a platform that gives back to our global community,” Paris said of his work.Child hunger was not Paris’ first advocacy effort. In 2018, at 19, he wrote, directed, and produced “Your Voice Matters,” a video encouraging young people to register and vote. As he explained at the time, “There’s a lot at stake right now. I think it’s important that my generation is participating in the political process.”
The video addressed several issues relevant to his generation, including environmental protection, affordable education, immigration reform, affordable health care, and gun control.
